Born in Wadebridge, Cornwall, Leyland Perryman was educated in Plymouth. On leaving school, he was trained at Plymouth College of Art in the mid sixties, before moving to London for further training as a teacher.
After qualifying, he took time out to pursue his love of music and enjoy a brief career, performing and recording for a major record label, before returning to teaching.
In 2008 an enforced retirement enabled him to indulge his own artistic aspirations and he returned to the ‘forgotten corner of Cornwall’, which he had enjoyed as a child. He embarked on a study of the Rame Peninsula, from Seaton to Edgcumbe and his objective of one hundred original watercolour paintings of this area, was realised in 2009.
The Rame Peninsula series is available as original watercolour paintings, prints and cards. Please contact Panache for further information and availability..
